Bagland is a Danish quintet led by trumpeter and composer Jakob Sørensen. Since the band’s debut in 2015, Bagland has developed a distinctive sound rooted in Scandinavian jazz – lyrical, spacious and shaped by a strong sense of melody.

Over the years, the acoustic sound of the quintet has gradually expanded to include synthesizers, effects and electronic textures, while retaining the intimacy and interaction at the core of the band.

Bagland has released four albums, received a Danish Music Awards Jazz nomination and performed extensively in Denmark and abroad, including tours in Germany and Finland and an appearance at jazzahead! in Bremen.
